Ms. Leslie Collins, a teacher at Veterans’ Memorial Elementary School focuses on making a difference in each of her students’ lives. Her focus is on working with students whose first languages are not English. She has experienced days where 10 to 12 different languages were being spoken and found ways to reach every student individually.
Ms. Collins is a role model to her young students, being a light when things can feel confusing and frustrating. Thank you, Ms. Collins for embodying all the qualities of a great teacher and congratulations on being a 2021 ‘Teachers Who Wow’ winner.
